New Academic-Year begins
The 2017-2018 Academic Year has begun with a remarkable increase in library use. Many freshmen of 2017 eagerly participated in the Library Induction program offered by IU librarians during the first weeks of the semester. Facility usage is at maximum capacity, with around 700 visits per day. The number of library transactions including loans and textbook rents doubled that of last year (Chart), together with nearly 1,000 transactions on English textbooks. In fact, due to recent changes in loan policy and service arrangement, students appear to have more attention to the physical collections. Besides, this time of the year witnessed a high demand in doing research amongst students. The number of drop-in research consultation has reached 70, meanwhile two research workshops on how to navigate scholarly resources were also offered to 30 senior students.
